Immersive Projection Mapping
Circadelic
{interactive experience design, projection mapping, devising, circuitry, collab}
Circadelic is an immersive installation that uses the body, pressure sensors, live camera, media projection, and sound to create an interactive 3D psychedelic experience.
Circadelic is a 4-person group project.
Process
Upon entering the space, the audiences encounter vibrant and constantly-evolving kaleidoscopic media. They then notice and interact with the 3 pressure sensors on the floor marked with a footprint sign, which creates visual alterations in the kaleidoscopic media.
Furthermore, as the audiences walk into the installation, the hanging screens display multiple real-time videos of them, each with a special effect, as captured by a nearby mounted camera. This allows the audiences to spot themselves being projected together with the digital media.
Applicable Spaces
Moving forward, this projection mapping installation has the potential to be expanded to include more surfaces, such as the floor and the ceiling to bring forth a more immersive space. Furthermore, the background music could be synced up with the visuals, so that the variation in soundwaves would trigger variating digital media as well.
An installation like this has boundless experiential and entertainment values and would live in spaces such as galleries, museums, and on stage.
